computer network dudes.... NAT help

What the hell is NAT and how can I get my PS3 NAT type: "Moderate" better?
I guess this creates lag and ?? so I'm want to know what I could do or check to make it better.
What I have now is Comcast internet, the Motorla modem, and a lynksis wireless router. My PS3 is hardwired to the router and is NOT running wireless.
