Electric Boat Motor

I have a 24V electric boat motor with 12V batteries. What would be the best way to wire the motor to the batteries? (I can get a total of 4 batteries, all 12V). Is there any way to wire 2 up together to get a 24V output, and have the other 2 hooked up to have another 24V output...and have them connected together, so they charge eachother while in use?

I'm not even sure if that idea would work, but if anyone else could help me figure out the best way that would be awesome!

Thanks
Adam

If you wire 2 batteries in series, you will have a 24 V going to each motor.

What kind of motor is it? You may need more batteries than that if you are planning any serious use of the motors. We would use at least 6 batteries on Minn Kota's, and 8 to 14 batteries for Ray motors. Check out the 6 V golf cart batts, they will operate best for a long run time, however are heavy as hell.
