Audiosource amps - Any good?

Time to buy some home audio stuff. I've basically been out of audio of any sort for awhile now, but now that we've gotten moved into our house its basically inevitable. Naturally I still went to PG's offerings, but are these actually any good? they're cheap on ebay, and look decent in pictures. How do they stack up as far as price/performance goes?
Initially looking at the amp300 for a sub rather than using a plate amp, but would likely buy more as things expand.

They sound fine to me. The AmpOne and AmpTwo weren't all that impressive in terms of componentry; the circuit boards are cheaper dipped ones. My AmpSevenT is a beast though. All of them put out their rated power, and then some. For cheap clean power, they are great.
Apparently they are coming out with a new line based on the RSD amps. Those should be really good. Also check out Adcom and Parasound for similar stuff.

Parasound halos are bad ass. However, if I were on a budget, I would go Emotiva. An RSP-1/XPA-2 setup would be a nice stereo setup.

I knew I was asking the right place here, but now ive got options.
if nothing else, the mmc-1 looks perfect as a source, except that its discontinued..

This is a good deal. There are usually a lot of nice used one around. Surprisingly audiogon only had 2.
AudioSource Amps

The newest AudioSource amps are 100% PG designed with Triple darlington and all the bells and whistles (circuitwise) that our best car amps have (We've been selling them for 6 months now, with almost zero returns.)
In the lineup we have a new subwoofer amp (AMPSUB210) that beats any competition in $/watt AND sound quality.
ON SALE NOW!

I like the new design. I have an amp1 and was thinking about an amp7 that matches.
Anybody around here have CARVER amps. I'd like to get an Xi1850.

How is the finish on the new amps? Is it the cheaper plastic stuff, like the newer Amp 100, or the brushed metal finish like the older Amp One?

by OldSchoolFool
Amp100 has ZERO plastic. The front panel is aluminum. The case is 20ga steel.
The new amps have a heavy (16-18ga) steel case, 10ga rack ears (appx 1/8" thick!) and a solid machined aluminum center panel. The center panel is grained and anodized shiney black. The rest of the face is a thick aluminum extrusion machined to perfection.
Overall the new amps match or beat any mechanicals from previous AudioSource amps.

Sorry, plastic is not what I meant... the duller finish. Your pictures clearly illustrate the style I am looking for. Cool! I will have to pick one up ASAP.
Now the question is do I keep bi-amping my towers or go for more power. Two 102's, or one 310. Hrmm...
Wonder how the Sub amp would stack up against my 500w BASH plate too!

Good call Harold, I should probably wait for that. Got such a good deal on the AmpSevenT last time, I'm sure there will be killer sales on these too

Uh,
two 310's? That's the ticket...
The 102 is just a step up from the 100, so it's a chip amp (the only one in the bunch). Still, very solid and somewhat more compact compared to the others. The 110's are the value amp with all the cool circuits included.
F&F? Sure to be another very soon.....
