Phoenix Gold Phorum

Hey guys, I just piccked up the afformentioned tv from my buddy. The problem is it shuts off on its own at any time it wants. I figured it was an over heating problem, so my buddy and I cleaned all the dust out with air. Same problem, what could it be, a short? Its a 2005 model. Anybody familiar with these types of tv's? Suggestions? Thanks for any suggestions or input, Dean.

i used to have a mitsubishi projection tv that liked to turn itself off, it ended up being solder joints on the power supply board that needed to be resoldered. dont know what the term is but after heating up so many times the joints just failed and the wire going threw the board would lose contact when it wanted. id look for hot spots on the boards and check the solder conections around them. ...sorry bout the spelling
