It ain't THAT big alternator.... Just as you know it... I'd guess 120Ah alternator or something in that gate...

You should not underestimate powerconsumption from old MS...

I do know that myself I will make sure that I have enough power at all times...

I have an 200A alternator from http://www.excessiveamperage.com/ in my old volvo together with 2 Maxxima Blue batteries and the big 3, installed by Pedi, really recommended, hardly any voltage drop but the original alternator was an 55A and i was down to 8-9V when i was playong loud so the PG amps really want some food :D

Those headlights are ugly as sin, but the rest of the car looks ok. Should have enough room for all your amps!

With 270000km you should make sure everything is in good shape, e.g. bushings, etc. will all be shot.

hmmmm....beemer wagons....I like it alot. It is hard to beat a wagon for the systems. I always wanted one of the little z wagons to run some ungodly shit in....You are looking at a huge draw from the sofas my friend. My 280 amp bosch wouldn't even really run 2 ms1ks one 4 ohm bridge and the other 4 ohm sterio without tapping down to the 11 volt range and that is with two kinetic 2400's

you ought to be able to go up to a meaty 280 to 300amp alt for that...never done a bmw but they seen to have a ton of aftermarket stuff available....ms=power hog...in a real way

YES! you made the right choice. let me know if you have any questions when it comes time to take it apart.

look into a xbrace and a m3 differential. best thing i have ever done to my car. the diff makes a HUGE difference in the rain and snow

This BMW is a 5 speed manual shifter. Automatics are very uncommon in europe as most of the people don´t like them. The only things i have to change are the brake rotors and some minor rust spots need some attention. I will pick the car up wednesday and start working on it during this week. 8)
