I am thinking about buying a new camaro within the next few month and wanted to know if anybody heard anything bad about them or anybody has one and what they think of it.

um, well if your buying it for looks...then they are pretty sweet!
if you want it for driving i'm gonna have to disagree.
dont mind me...i'm a asshole!
also i think buying ANY car new is a waste of money... maybe they have 2009 with warranty still?

I asked for everybody's opinion good or bad.
I love the design of the car but have not driven one yet.
From what i have seen the interior of the 2010 is much higher than the crap interior of the 2002 but all I have seen so far had leather not cloth.
My biggest worry is its a GM they have been real slack on quality of most models in the past 10 years.
Did you know BMW is starting to build engines with no dipstick you have to check the message display on the dash.

Has anybody seen a aftermarket system in a 2010 camaro I can't seem to find anything?

Im a GM guy, so of course I will say go for it. I drove in one a few weeks ago real quick (didnt have the chance to really get on it though), and it seemed faster than I will ever need.
All I kow is that if you get one, please dont get the standard colors that you always see. I'm still waiting to see the dark grey with black stripe package. It irritates me how you only see 3 colors out there.

I'm thinking about the inferno orange unshure about the stripes. I know a guy in my area has a yellow ss. I've seen some red ones and silver but not a lot of people driving them in the winter I'm sure I'll see more after the quebec snow tire law finishes on march 15th.
If it was 10 years ago I would have bought nothing but a GM I had a 84 caprice classic the car was great but it also had no computers on it to control things that just need switches. I also still have a 1990 chevy pickup that my dad bought new and I got from him in 97.
I have only ever owned 2 different makes of cars GM and my last one was a honda.

I got a ride in one of those burnt orange thingys you're talking about. I did not get to drive it as it was a company car on loan from the GM tech center but I really liked it. I owned an 82'. What a pos that was compared to the new car. The color was really hot in person. The interior really surprised me for a GM. I have always been a Chevy guy but I see a lot of different makes and models and their interiors have always been lacking in my opinion. The new Camaro however was really impressive. Retroish styling with some high tech doodles. I am a plain and simple person myself, I don't need all that fancy Nav and other computer hoo ha. Just give me a proper set of gauges and I am happy. Ok ok, ramble.
My name is Drew and I like the new Camaro inside and out.

Ya same here I don't want a bunch of extra high price options I'm happy with a with just a base rs as long as I get the 20 inch wheels.

Love the old Caprices! My first car was a hand me down '81 Caprice Classic Wagon....gold with wood vinyl. I drove it into the ground.
Do you still have yours? I like the camaro wheels on it.

Its sharp! I might see if I can find one. I need a new ride. Something big, comfy, and classic. That fits the bill.

Ztwenty - youg going to love.. and hate the new Camaro.
first off - you cant really put an aftermarket deck/HU in one... EVERYTHING is routed through the stereo.
There are a couple kits out there for doing it, but the kit costs $500.00+ then you still have to buy the head unit.
you can tap into the low-level inputs in the trunk at the OEM amp, which is nice and run short RCA's to an aftermarket amp or two.
The battery is in the trunk on the SS versions
Go take a look at
http://www.subthump.com/5gstealth.htm
they make some decent stuff for the 5th gen Camaro and are working on a wiring harness that should be available before too long - so you wont have to cut the OEM wiring.
other than that - there arent that many folks that have upgraded them much yet...
When I get my 2SS done, I'll post some pics though. Since the Camaro is a retro-throwback I am going with a Roadster66 (retro-looking throwback to the route66), RSDC 10's and PPI 356cs fronts...

I ordered the camaro this morning it will be a inferno orange 1lt with RS package and polished wheels.
The only reason I was hoping on to puting an aftermarket head unit is because I have a alpine iva-w505 that is about a year old that I just took out of my civic.
I want to put my M44 in my camaro for sure .
It will be a little while but I won't be in a rush to get it done.

New cars are nice ... That's why I rent them.
$30K turns into $20K when the keys hit your hand.
Then you drop huge coin on insurance every month for collision.
Worst investment on the planet.
A 20 year old car has no payments, only needs liability coverage and if customized with taste, draws as many eyes as a new unit.
Invest in real estate, GrassHopper.
It will pay you back forever ........

I agree it sucks that a new car drops its value so fast but I am not a fan of the 92 -02 camaro and i'm not going to pay the going prices for an iroc-z i was watching them a couple years ago and prices were high for anything in decent condition.
as for insurance I'm going to be paying only 90$ over my my 05 civic just under 800$ a year with full coverage and replacement.

I found a set of boston acoustic speakers for a 2010 camaro on ebay the look cheap and they are 2 ohms that makes the decent power rating not so good.
Looks like they will be upgraded asap.

sorry to hear it but it is probably for the best, the new mustang 5.0 is killing the camaro.

I'm not really into the mustang.
In my opinion none of the cars ford gm or dodge is really that much better than the other they all have problems.
I prefer the style of the camaro and will not be racing or doing any hi speed driving with it so that extra few tenths that the faster car has makes no difference to me.
But I do enjoy laughing at the guy that thinks he needs to prove himself a man with his fast car and crashes it.
The body shop across from me repaired a viper and the guy thought he could drive until he wiped out my mailbox I thought it was funny I just wish I had pictures.

Love BMW's and the new Camaro's

, but have layed waste to many Mazda's (3's, 6's, RX-8''s to name a few

) with my rocket. picture attached.
The Mazda's are nice, but being owned by FORD?

Each to his own

.
