My car is 38 years old, and I have been slowly bringing it into the 20th Century. I already had upgraded the headlamps to the HID style, very cool But I did nothing with the fog lights, really big 30 watt light bulbs, the light up nothing.
Today I changed the old fogs with a set of Pilot lights (H3) style. WOW what a difference. Took a few pics, thought I would share.
Nice upgrade! I wish it was that easy to do on my Charger! But swapping them lights out means a full rebuild of the forward light harnness because the 40 year old switch in the dash can´t handle the higher current flow.
The headlights were upgraded earlier this winter. They are HID, super duper upgrade. The fogs are H3 stayle wich is a halogen lamp at 50watts. Both lamps run on the stock harness with no issues. But, if you replace the H3 bulb with a 100w. You will smell somthing funny That would be way too much for 40 yr old wiring.
I have been considering adding some to my mustang as they are down o $40 for a kit now. I was suprised to find out that it can throw alot of warning lights(abs for example) if you mount the ballast too close to the sensors.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Since you have a Mustang and the aftermarket support is very good, you should definitely get a projector conversion if you plan to go to HIDs. Without projectors they cause a ton of glare. I run them in my Saab aimed nice and low and they still light up traffic signs for miles. I've even lit up wire markers on overhead powerlines because the glare shines so high! Unfortunately without the HID low beam I feel sketchy driving at night because my vision sucks . If projectors were available I would definitely fit them, but it would unfortunately be a totally custom job for my car.

If you were to add a relay and new power source from the battery through the relay for the lights it would work a treat, I actually need to do that to my golf just to get some decent voltage to the bulbs. Then the original wiring is only pulling in a relay.
