Car upgrade on my end!

Since i had the BMW 330D Station Wagon i was more than pissed about the actual trunk size as it wouldn´t take the shrouded Nickel i wanted to install. Should have checked prior buying it. :( So í´ve been looking arround for a fair priced BMW 5 Series Station Wagon. Yesterday i drove a total of 511km together with a friend and checked a few cars out.

The first 2 cars we looked at were rust buckets, with good engines. Way too much to invest to get the bodys straight again. The next one had a nice shell but when we started the engine it sounded like the camshaft grinding it´self to death

That left us with our last option!!! As soon as we pulled into the driveway my friend and i knew that´s the car we´re taking home. There it was sitting. An Avusblue metallic 525tds with 143hp and a total of 270000km on it. That thing has everything and the only things to do to get it laserstraight again are an engine service, replacing the windshield and the drivers Seat. The internet site we found it at had it listed for 3500eur but i took it home with me for 3000eur.

I didn´t take my own pictures but will do so shortly.

Worked on the Car yesterday! We changed all fluids, all the drive belts, all filters, cleaned the engine compartment and did a full brake service.

Since the car has some minor rust issues i decided to paint the hood, the roof and the trunk lid in a nice tantrum wrinkle black which should look good together with the install later on. 8)

I got the idea because the shroud of my Nickel amps are done the same way and it looks awesome. So when installing the amps in this car why not going with something different on the outside of it as well.

Man I love BMW wagons. Wish we had more of them here to drive down the price! One of those would be double the price here, even with 270000km. We don't get the diesels either :(

I´m driving 80 kilometers to get to work and home again every day and this car does 100km with 8 litres of diesel which is the cheapest kind of fuel over here. I get as far as 900km with one full tank.

I like the look of wrinkle black, but it is a BITCH to clean. Its like a dust sponge in my experience

Started working on the hood of the car today. Got the extension welded onto it and did some bondo work. Will get some filler tomorrow and hopefully have it painted by end of day

@ttocs: Might have been a good idea but since the last time i posted here i decided to get the roof the hood and the trunk lid in the oldschool Phoenix Gold flat GOld colour.

I got a few pic´s from Heinzdastier today. He´s doing all the rust repair on my car as long as i´m gone.

The repairs are done on my car and the foil thingy worked out great. Just did it together with a friend last friday. The roof and the trunklid to follow the hood pretty soon.

I like how the hood sweeps over the headlights now. Makes it look mean......for a wagon that is.

Do they salt the roads over there or something because thats alotta rust.......

During winter times they use a lot of salt over here since about 3 feet of snow is the average we get here every winter.
Right now the the car´s bottom is 99% rust free. Hope it stays that way for a couple of years now.

I'd have the bottom coated with LINE X or like material after putting that much work into it.......

That's one mean looking beamer Joerg....I guess people will move out of the way in a hurry when they see you coming in their rearview mirror!
If the nickel does not fit after all.....I've got a Ford stationwagon in which I can move things of 1,90 metre length without any problems hehe...

It´s not a top notch car but i´m more than happy with it. Still need to do the roof and the trunk lid with the carbon gold foil but then i´m ready to start with the interior. And don´t worry the Nickel fits perfect even with my custom made shroud on it. I really can´t wait to start the install.
