The 1.8 motor that I put in temporarily dropped a valve seat about 3 months ago. I had the option of dumping money into a motor that I purchased for less than 400 bucks. Or, finishing my original 2.0 motor. It was a no brainer.
I have been collecting parts for this motor for almost 2 years
This is a 2liter VW type 4 engine running D-jetronic Fuel injection. I am in the process of putting it back togeather now. I have purchased a slightly more aggressive cam, and bored the cylinders out to gain a few more hp. The heads were rebuilt and came out fantastic. The rocker arms were upgraded to the porsche 911 style swivel feet. I purchased Keith Black pistons, chromoly pushrods etc. This engine is gonna be bad assI had all the d-jet wiring rebuilt and powder coated all the tins. I have also purchased a few more guages for the cockpit and traded the stock heat exchangers for a custom header setup.
