New camera soon!

Post by mr tibbs »

Well, the stars have finally aligned just right and I have talked the wife into buying me a new camera. The Pentax K-5 IIs will soon be mine!! I hope to get it before we take a trip to Mesa Verde in a couple of months. In the meantime I did sneak in a purchase of a new (to me) used lens, a Pentax F 50mm, f1.7. It's an older lens, but still works great with the new DSLR's and has auto focus. I think it's a pretty sharp copy!

Gotta love primes. I am really digging my Canon 40mm pancake. I see Pentax makes the same thing, only over double the price...

Gotta love the slim profile though :D

Yep, primes are the way to go for me now! I have two zoom lenses that cover from 17mm to 300mm. Now I just need a few more primes to round out my collection.

I know about the 40mm pancake, but I already own a 35mm and now a fast 50mm. I still have to play with the 50mm, but I know the 35mm is a keeper, remember this thread? I love that 35mm lens!! One more recent shot from that lens:

My next lens purchase will more than likely be the Tamron 90mm macro. Either that or a super wide (8-12mm) for landscape stuff!

I should really put up some pics from my 40mm pancake. Its really the perfect walkabout lense. You can use it in the most of the same circumstances as 35mm and 50mm as well, just by taking a step back or forward.

Yeah I really need a macro and wide angle as well... and a new body... stupid $$$ :(
