If you fire the port out the side dont forget to leave a good amount of space between the opening & any walls (ie rear door or seats, depending on direction).

Too little of space will basically choke off the port & will reduce overall output & the woofers performance.

Ok guys the box has been complete for awhile now. But I got the itch again. And I am here for some more guidance. Right now I have a CRX style box and I now wanna go with a wall design. What I need from you guys is what is the smallest ported box you build for Six (6) Ti12d Elites tuned no higher than 30Hz would prefer to tune in the 25Hz range.

Here's some pics of what I got now.

i should have posted pics of the rest of the system. The X200.4 is only for the door speakers. I got (2) Sundown SAZ 3000d monoblocks, (3) Powermaster D3100 batteries, 300Amp Iraggi Alternator and 100ft of 1/0 power and ground :D

So I got the power. I just need help with the box and tuning length.

Smallest possible box? I don't have any box building software here at work but let's see what we can come up with...

According to the manual, the SPL box is 2.25 cuft per sub, 4" vent 11" long... tuned to 31Hz. So with four subs, you need at least 2.25*4=9cuft total, and either 4 4" ports, or one bigger one.

Area of circle = pi * r^2
area of port = pi * 2^2 = 12.5663706
Total port area = 12.5663706 * 4 ports = 50.2654824

So I think that means you would need a 50 sq. in port 11" long. Now I am not sure if this is how it actually works or not... could someone with box software please run the numbers and make sure I haven't messed up?

Stipud thanks for the response. My biggest problem is the port area. I have not gotten a definitive answer from any stereo shop that is local to me nor have I really gotten a definitive answer from different forums. So I come here to ask the guru's the answer.

Does the 9cuft net total include the port displacement? Or do I need to add more cuft for port displacement? Also 50sq in of port seems a little small for 4 subs.

Thanks for all the insight.
