Roadster66 - Who has one?

Post by NewOldStock »

So, while reflecting on the chances of being able to get the MS series amps that I really want to run and stay remotely close to the budget that will keep my wife from making me sleep on the couch... I have some questions about the Roadster66

The roadster is rated at 75x4 + 400x1 (@4ohm)

#1 - can the roadster be bridged for ~150x2@4ohm?
#2 - does anyone know if the skin of the roadster comes off to color match it to the car? - ultimately I would love to be able to take the main shell and color match it and leave the end caps and PG logo/thing black

Thanks!

I am about to pull the trigger on a roadster - shipping to Vermont from Wa-state will suck, but what do you charge for the PC/Anodizing?

I SHOULD wait until I get the car so I can make sure and match the color correctly, but I wont get the car till August and I am WAY too impatient for that.

ok, so I pulled the trigger on the Roadster... They said they had #11 available, so thats the one I requested.

That Roadster, combined with my MX2 means I will be able to run active fronts and something along the lines of 2 4-ohm subs (of some VC combination that gets me to a 2-ohm load)

so...

add this:

and this:

and these for Fronts since I already have them BNIB (Image lifted from SonicElectronics):

and I should be pretty well set.

I have around 8 months to get the amp color matched and get a sub or two (split between RDSC 12's, Dayton HO 12's and FI Q with a color matched script)

I will take pics and post them here when the Roadster arrives. Sometime between Dec 2 and 9.

1. Yes the Roadster can be bridged for more than 150x2 @ 4 ohms. That is how I have mine currently running to my RSD6.5 comps up front. I haven't measured actual output and I'm pretty sure I'm not using it to its full potential because it is plenty loud enough for me.

2. I'm not sure about the cover coming off. I haven't opened mine up but I'm sure OldSchoolFool would be able to tell you.

Awesome! If I go passive, I will definitely want to bridge it... if I go active, 75x4 will be PERFECT.

I AM SO STOKED! Now I just need the dang car so I can install it all!
