you could say that probably more so about amps than subs.. These days many amp companies use the same build houses, and very similar, if not the same basic circuit boards. so by that measure, the components used arent important to the quality of sound, durability or power output of the amp?
I think its fairly safe to say that if you crack open an AAMP made PG amp and see internals that look like an xplod amp, you would be disappointed - but if you were to crack one open and see the internals that are reminiscint of brax, genesis, audison... maybe not so much.
I am not debating whether amps or subs are more different, or that one is more important for a weekly sneak peak... just that when it comes to everything, the sum of its parts, all its parts, is greater than any of them individually.
The Arc Audio / Elf audio amps, which are pretty obviously the same board and case, but different internals, are a perfect example of exact same board, exact same build house, exact same case... but very different amps... because of internals.
