I soldered and heat shrunk all the disconnects, and soldered the stripped ends of the wires where they go into the terminal blocks.

Now all I have to do is get some clear caulk to bond the capacitors to each other, put the amp back together, and clean it up externally.

I'm blown away at how original/clean/factory that board looks. Sweet job.

FETS M50 ZR44 vs. ZR48

Post by BigBrent »

It seems like in one of these posts in rebuilding a M50, someone recommended replacing the ZR44 FETS with the ZR48 model. They mentioned this is because the device can handle more current, so it would be an upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas or feedback about this?

the 48 is an upgrade from a 44, more sturdy reliable device, not sure you would get more out of the amp but a worthwhile upgrade if yours are already blown, i wouldn't replace them for the sake of it though..
