RSD10 and RSDC10 in Audio Integrations Enclosure
Hello Everyone.
Sounds to me from the threads I have found like the ideal volume for an RSD10 or RSDC10 is .6 Cubic Feet. Is that definitely accurate for both subs?
I preordered an Audio Integrations Perfect Fit 10" sub enclosure for my 09 WRX 4 door but they are estimating .85 or .9 cubic feet for the internal volume.
To make up for the larger than PG recommended enclosure size, should I just put something inside the box to take up some of the internal space if I use an RSD or RSDC 10 in it? Like glue in extra wood or something like that?
I want to go this route because I am trying to be as stealth as possible and this fits neatly in the corner of my trunk. Don't want the attention any more, one bad experience was enough to f with my head forever.
Check out the enclosure:

It sure will be...I have just been going slow.
Every 6 months or so I start thinking about my next change. I am gaining the ambition and courage to get my RSd comps into the Rex so I have resurfaced : ). I been dragging my feet for a while since I wasn't anxious to pull off my door panels but I have found some info on the process and it doesn't seem too difficult after all...definitely not worth paying a shop for in the spring like I was planning. Gonna get my Dynamat off Amazon pretty soon...couple hours of overtime in my next check might help with that.
The sub enclosure is a ways out, only in preorder right now...just doing all my homework at the moment.

rsd10
i have 2 rsd10 inch subs. i recently built a box according to specs that i was given for a completely different woofer that i thought i had. this box is 1.5cube a piece with a 3inch ID port that is 12 inches long. now i do know that this is waaaaaayyyyy too large but i wanna know exactly how much too large?
i want to port these woofers correctly, i listen to mostly rock but there have been alot of days lately that i have been listening to rap, so what do you reccomend for enclosure size? please respond ASAP because i am building this in the morning! thanks!

Re: rsd10
If you have the manual for the subs, then there are box specs in the manual. Ported enclosures will require more volume that sealed.toyotanick wrote:i have 2 rsd10 inch subs. i recently built a box according to specs that i was given for a completely different woofer that i thought i had. this box is 1.5cube a piece with a 3inch ID port that is 12 inches long. now i do know that this is waaaaaayyyyy too large but i wanna know exactly how much too large?

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

i did not even know exactly what subs i had and you expect me to have the box? haha my dad owns a bug car audio and 4x4 business in lafayette louisiana and he through those in my truck when i wasnt there while i was building it.
i though i have diamond ds3 10's because of my original lack of airspace before i built this mondo box.
i found the specs for my woofers online though. 1cube per woofer with a 2inch by 4inch port... thats exactly a cube less tota than what i have soi cant wait for tomorrow to build it!

Re: RSD10 and RSDC10 in Audio Integrations Enclosure
did you take off the 0.09 driver volume ? not a lot but take it in the end volume...Phoenixcolt wrote:Hello Everyone.

Funny this thread got another hit, just installed the enclosure yesterday. Probably doing the sub tomorrow night.
Because of the enclosure size, I have to put about 500 cubic inches of styrofoam in to make it a better fit for the rsdc102, stinks because it will be hard to fit it all in there in square shapes since the enclosure is very curvy...of course this is assuming I need to glue down the stryrofoam I put in the box...let me know if I don't as it would save me a headache...but I think I would need to secure the blocks and not just throw them in like packing peanuts.
What do you think?
I bought an 8x8x8 green styrofoam cube and started cutting it a little but i have to make sure i dont waste a lot of it because i need all of it to be close to that .6 ideal volume. It is a rough green styrofoam from AC Moore, it isn't the smooth kind you get around audio equipment.
Any reason this rough kind wouldn't work as well in your opinions?

It sounds Excellent, I wouldn't have it any other way.ttocs wrote:how did it end up sounding in that box man? Curious about it since I am going to get one now........
I did have to glue a good amount of styrofoam inside to take up some of the .9 cuft volume to get me closer to the .6 cuft ideal volume we have discussed for the RSdC102. It probably isn't exactly .6 but it is very close and sounds great.
I am not sure what car you are putting it in or if you would be using a 10 or a 12 but I am pushing 400 watts to an RSdC102. It doesn't blow the doors off, but that's not what I am going for these days anyway...but if I did want that, I am confident I could do it with more wattage. On a song like David Guetta's "Sexy B-tch", the bass at the beginning hits very loud and very clean. Audio Integration really did a tremendous job on this enclosure. It is very thick fiberglass and does not feel cheap on any level.
I am not a very technical sound guy so I can't analyze it the way some of the gurus can on here but all I can do is tell you I love this enclosure, Period.
I listen to a lot of different music, and when I am in the Hip Hop or Hip Pop mood, this sub and enclosure never disappoint.
I would highly recommend these enclosures to anyone looking for a flawlessly integrated solution. It was worth every dollar I spent on it and bolts onto factory holes that already exist. Very secure, very easy, very quality product.
P.S. I finally picked up the 6 channel interconnect, Dynamat, and speaker wire I needed to get my door comps into a car again thanks to some very clutch crossover replacements (among other things) a few years ago
