Certainly the Ti1200.1 is a great match up for the Ti12d, and the other two would likely work okay, but neither would receive my recommendation for that load. The Ti1000.2 is optimized for 4 ohm mono loads just like all of the other Ti multi-channel amps. You will only get marginally more output power @ 2 ohm mono with substantially greater current draw to make it happen. I realize that 1.5 is not that different from a 2 ohm load, but the 2 ohm load isn't that great to begin with, and the negative implications from lower loads will only become greater. The T1200.1 is the same way. Although PG rated the tantrum amps down to 2 ohm loads, you're gaining minimal power as compared to the 4 ohm load and you're running into the danger zone imho. Yes, people have successfully used the tantrum monoblock in this fashion, but I can't tell you how many of those amps I personally saw meet their un-timely demise while operating at a 2 ohm load....just my two cents.culzero wrote: However, the amps designed by PG to power the TI12d Elite to full excursion were TI1200.1, TI1000.2, and T1200.1. These three amps were designed to handle the 1.5Ohm Nominal load all day.

Yup, I power my 2 Ti12Ds with an RSd1200 each. Hits hard, sounds great, and I haven't had any problems with the ohm loads and it only gets hot when I am adjusting the gain with a DMM for an extended period of time at 3/4 headunit volume which I can never reach without destroying my ears during normal listening.AVICJR wrote:I believe I heard that the RSD1200.1 would work also.
When I am at more normal headunit volumes that are closer to 1/2 or 5/8 headunit volume, the amps have never felt warmer than expected. I think they handle the ohm load very well and I have played them for a couple hours at a time countless times on my way to New Hampshire at 1/2 headunit volume and they never seemed to fatigue or anything.
