Web Live Training on Various Car Audio Topics
These are training suggestions for DIY installers. R/S or alarm installation is a complex process and does take time to learn. The blanket statement that implies "Security is not somthing you can learn on a dvd or video" is just your opinion. Each person learns differently and has different questions which is why these will be interactive training's. I think people could do FAR more damage with a router to their bodies than showing them basic and proper installation techniques while working on vehicle electrical systems. I understand that "it shouldn't even be considered until the understand relays in/out and understand a little about the doorlocks and triggereing circuits to do so" because of damage that could occur but please give me the benefit of the doubt that my training's would start from ground zero, not 10 steps ahead.ttocs wrote:I would really really have to recomend that you do ot do anything security or remote start related. A great alarm with a bad install, or even half bad on the best case scenario will leave you wondering where you shit went while the alarm is silent but the worst case it can leave you stranded with serious damage resulting in a bill that would be much much higher then any alarm install price.
All the other items on the list I think are great ideas but I really don't think we need to be preaching that it is something that even 1/2(maybe) of the people on here are not ready for. I know that after years of installing them it was still not uncommong to find a car that would throw me off and cursing, if it got to that point with someone that didn't know what was going on would probably result in everything being ripped out and then reinstalled by a local shop.
I think it is a great idea for the manf to help explain stuff and I don't want you to think I hate the idea but it is just WAAAY to easy to get inover your head with security.

what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
There's a lot of good things to choose from there. For me it'd come down to motorization or remote installs as I have not done either and want to.

Definatly interested. I am getting ready to do a moderately ambitious system in my Grand National, but keep finding myself not really knowing where to begin, with regards to the door panels, baffle (for IB 15's, and amp rack. I just bought a router, some resin and some chopped strand mat, but have little clue what to do with any of it.

Please all that are interested post which weekend date would be good for this interactive display. That was I can figure out saturday or sunday.

the resin will never stick to the plastic. The best way is to drill holes in the areas where the glass will meet the plastic. Be sure to get resin and mat on both sides, as well as satureted enough that it goes into the holes and you can get it to basically cure around your piece.
Goo vinyl will stretch in both an X and a Y direction. You start on the large flat side and work your way around to the corners. Glue and staples where you can hide them hold everything in place.

Day/date is of no matter, however afternoon is definitely better than morning if possible. Thanks!AAMP217 wrote:I am back guys.
