Post by dontlookatme »

so far my search for my gear is almost complete

eclipse 8545
3x ti 600.2
1x ti 1000.2
ti bass cube
ti 5 comp set
ti 6.5 comp set
zero point reference II pcc-occ rca cables

what im getting
ti fuse blocks and ground blocks
ti 9
ti 5 to replace a blown ti

what im missing
ti caps or ti powercore or alumna pro cap
bat isolator

if anyone can think of things im missing let me know. so my search can keep going

the main question that i have is now that i got my hands on a ti9's i was going to use the extra 600.2 to power them. ive never mixed passive with active so im confused on how to make it work with my setup i hope thats a good setup but im not too sure. if anyone has better experience and i know most of u do and u also have the free time to help me out with a wiring diagram on what u would do it would help me a bunch.

6x pc-ccc zero point rca

A band-pass can be accomplished as simply as passing the rca output from the amp powering your passive two-way into the amp for your Ti9 midbass drivers. Just adjust the "config" switch on the first amp so that it selects high-pass for the amp itself and low-pass for the output. I'd recommend setting the filter somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-200hz. Then just set up the filter on the second amp as a high-pass around 60-80hz and voila! 24dB/octave band-pass!

You may have other options or more flexibility with the Eclipse deck (I'm not familiar with it) or other external processors, but I've had great luck using the crossovers on the Ti amps in that configuration for the TiElite three-way setup.

if you use the x-overs for both componants and the last amp for the ti9's there should be no problems.

I have the Eclipse CD8455 and would much rather have the 8545, like the looks of it better.

My wife got me the 8455 for my birthday 5 yrs ago so I still have to keep it, sentimental reasons.

lol, mine too. When it's supposed to say "reading..." and flashes, it doesn't. It's intermittent and drives me nuts. At some point I'm going to send it in for repair.

I would try a laser lense cleaner before I replaced it or sent it off for service.
