HI I'm new and have question

Post by Ride Da Fire »

I bought a used Phoenix Gold ZX450 4.ch amp. I want to use this to run 4 of my 6.5 speakers that rated 100 watts. Can this amp make it happen? Is this a good amp?

awesome, thanks. I read the spec and I saw the pg zx450 put out 75 watts per channel so I thought it would be underpower to run my 6.5 speakers. Each of these speaker is 100 watts rated. I bought a RF 500.1 amp from a friend, I'm going to use it to push 2 12" RF P2.

The 450 half of a reactor benched 111 x 4 @ 4 ohms at 14v. You're good to go and then some.

The zx450 gets freaking LOUD. I just got one and replaced my tantrum 600.4 which was also 75x4 and then some. But the zx BLOWS it out of the water. It's nucking futz. I was truly blown away by the loudness and the SQ the amp produced. You will not be sorry. The zx should be just fine for you.

I got a zx500 and a RSdc124 on the way to complete my install :D Can't wait!

Oh, and welcome to a new addiction :D

thanks all for the welcome  , I'm glad to hear that I have a good amp. I will have everything install in about 3 weeks and I will post pix of it. I know it is a 10 + years old amp but it has a lot of good review when I google it. I love to have one of the Phoenix Gold RSD600.1 but kinda tight on financial right now. I will have it one of these day. I was told the OLD PHOENIX gold put out more power then what they rated is that correct? That was one of the reason I bought the ZX450 amp.
