I'd say M44 because I like M amps.... I'll bet they preform alot the same as far as SQ quality.... But the MQ430 in the right hands can be a monster.
I say "right hands" because it requires real intelligence and planning to optimize it's potential....... You can run a huge system with this beast.... All you have to do is read the manual and iut tells you how to run 8-15's off the rear chn.....

Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

these amps are very much the same in a few ways they have pretty much the same capacitance so the real world power is pretty much the same. i did start off with a mq430 but ive also heard a route 66 and really liked the sound enough to want to buy it so i dont think you could go wrong with either amp. they both have the phoenix gold sound so it all come's down to personal prefrance if i were to A/B these amps i would probably get lost in the music and forget i was comparing amps and never have a clear winner.
the mq430 is the only pg amp i have never owned (from pre zx times) so can't really make a comment but i've had plenty of m44's and they are superb flexible amps with plenty of power and decent sq

I would take a M44, only because of the on board crossover. Power wise I bet they are very similar.
