4 gauge minimum. If your using 4 gauge on just your amp then I suggest 2 or 0/1 since the rest of the electrical needs power too. Those JL amps can run on low current and are built very well- I'd replace all wiring and it should work fine- no need for a cap if your electrical system is doing it's job. The slash amps are very effecient!

Remember though the length of wire to update the big 3 is substantially shorter than the length to the amp(s) so 4 gauge should be fine.

Man, since I posted this, I might get aids, that's what I get for being a good person!

It sounds like the amp is clipping, killing your subs, so like ttocs asked, what are your gains and stuff set at?

by jl specs, you don't mean you tuned it with a multimeter do you?

Phisically where is the gain at, 1/2, 2/3 full ect?

Well, you don't have a w7, so why are you using those specs to tune your amp?!?! A w7 can handle lots more power than the subs you have listed I believe, I could be wrong. Also +4db on the bassboost is almost doubling (2x) the power output of the amp, if it's anything like a PG amp. Every +3db of bass boost double the power required by the amp!

I would turn your gains WAY down, and all bass boost OFF, and then start to tune your amp...

well it sounds like it but it shouldn't be at 1/4 volume.

Do you understand what clipping it and what it sounds like? It it the most common problem the melts subs.

When the sub "farts" that's a bad thing.....

I'm with the other guys, turn everything all the way down and never touch the bass boost.....turn the HU up to about 70% and ease the gain up alittle at a time to tune it....

How much signal are you getting from the HU?
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

well if theres clipping i cant hear it clipping at all. i guess i dontknow what clipping is.. i just hear bass.. the diamond sounded perfect and it just stopped out of no where and the jl w6 is pushing fine just burned a little so i stopped and disconnected it. checked the diamond with a volt meter and it read o.oo6 and is suppose to be near 4 ohms or around there.. ill turn it down and start out of 16+ 4 is where it is at. so ill guessi turnit to 0 any other advice i should do also?
