Questition for the electronic gurus

Post by joerg »

I´m working on a little amp project for a friend that wants to have the ability to adjust the gains from 2 MS275´s with only one pot. I took the pots for boost and gain out of one of the MS275´s and ran some parallel wires to the pots from another board. I then discovered that i don´t have the ability to test if it works that way because i took my test booth apart due to the need of the batteries. Did anybody in here try this before?

You can try it on power, but I doubt it will work.

My guess is the gain set point would be drastically off from a normal MS275. Also, there is a good chance audio signals will bleed over from one channel to the other (might not be an issue in this situation).

That was my first guess too. The Pot is nothing more than an adjustable resistor. So if i take the same resistance for two amps i would guess that it would look like the gains will be turned half way up on each amp.

This set up will not work. You can try use preamp circuit one of the MS275 for both amplifiers.

Use a "double" potmeter (2 in 1) then you can change them both.
Otherwise you need a select switch.

You are adding two resistors i paralell & both boards connect ... not good..
