Question about my new PG RSD65cs speakers?
Ok.... I would hook up the passive xover right at the deck(like a foot of wire from the back of deck to the xover) and then hook the speakers to it where all the wire is showing. see how they sound. If it's the same low output the deck is low power/not powerful enough, or the passive is sucking all the juice the deck can put out. you can also just run a wire directly to the tweeter at low volume with the bass turn down the farthest it will go and see if the output changes obviously use caution on the volume as the tweet will see all freq's, but for just a little quicky of like 5 secs it should be ok. how's the output that way? same or better? if it's the same meaning low output we can say the deck is a low output unit in capable of running comps by itself. It's also possible that the factory
speaker is 2ohm. I really think this small experiment/s will lead to the answer. you can also bypass this all and hook up the amp and be all good.
I hope you get the same sound out of your RSd's that I do because you will never go back to stock stuff again. these speakers are in the
Car audio and electronics top ten list. nuf said. I also realize that removing the factory deck may be a hassle and a lot of work but this will give you the answers you seek....I hope.

UPDATE!!!! Finally got some time to finish up. I moved the tweets up to the sail panels in the doors. That made a huge difference!!! Now I can hear them really well. My pickup has a lot of leg room up front so I think that I just had them to deep under the dash. I only put them there because I read that would be the best place proper sound imaging. The mids in the doors sit right about my thigh. so the tweets in the sail panels are actually not to bad of a compromise. Hooked the Amp up and WOW!!!!! everything got clearer, richer, and deeper. These things are AWESOME!!!!! Thanks for all the suggestions. Turns out simply moving the tweets and adding the Amp was all I needed. I'm thinking of even moving the crossover switch on the tweets back down to -0db.
