M25 bought it back in 1992/3 and had it in my RX7 running Polk pods and 4" mids in the doors, 2 8" RF punch as midbass and 2 10" MTX Blue Thunders all on the one amp. Never missed a beat and I sold it with the car...d'oh!

Mine was a M100 which I used to replace my RF Punch 200ix to run my two 15 inch RF woofers (15 years ago) ... now I have 4 PG amps in various states of disrepair, working on a project that will use a M50 and a XVR12 in my Pickup. No more RF here.

zx450 V1-1995 or 97? still have, cant remember exact year-Jason helped me fix, or lead me down the path to find the bad output transistor, and was able to fix myself-Extremly gratifying, excellent amp, still looks excellent

Re: First owned PG product?
The first piece of PG equipment I bought was a 9-out-of-10 M44 I bought off of Ebay in 2009.
I'm 38 and have always been into car stereo since I got my first Rabbit GTI in 1992. However, when I was really into it during and after college in the early to mid 90s, I could never afford good equipment like PG. For the last 10 years, I maintained a simple, modest system in my Electron Blue Pearl 1999 Civic Si just to have something. I bought the M44 in 2009 to replace the P.O.S. RF P4004 I bought in 2005.
The instant I hooked the M44 up to my 1999 5 1/4" MB Quart References and single 12W1 I was hooked and I knew there was no turning back. In fact, since buying the M44, I have collected an Series II M25, and first-generation PLD1, EQ215, and AX406A. Now I'm just waiting for an AX204A and LPL44.
I am SO hooked on old-school PG equipment!
I am currently in college again, but I am working on my false-floor installation of the gear I listed above and will post pictures of the progress eventually.
Later!

Re: First owned PG product?
My first PG item was actually this Cyclone

Bought it brand new at the local dealer in 99, it was one of only 5 they imported to norway (or so I was told). Paid about $900 for it. Sold it a couple of years ago when I was in a rough spot without work and had a stack of bills, had to let all my collection go bit by bit. This is the sale I regret the most, it was the last thing to go and I had promised myself to never part with it..
Someday I'll get myself a good one to replace it

A used and broken grey MS2125 in 2009 from Craigslist. It's working fine now, well impressed with the sound quality.

My first was an M44 that I bought about 3 years ago. And still haven't installed it. I now have added 2 M50s, MS250 and an M100 that needs repair. And still, all of it is in the closet. But this is the year I shall finally get to hear them in my car.

I purchased 2 M50s and the EQ215 in 1993 or 1994... can't remember exactly.
I spent $1100 that day on my credit card.
Now I only have 1 of the 2 M50s and no EQ215.

Mine was a Bass Cube when they first came out. I think I had some rca's and cable before that but not sure. I still have 2 ZPA'S from back then, that I am about to sell.

Re: First owned PG product?
first stuff I bought was a bunch of wire, dist blocks and other accesories when I upgraded my stereo arond 1991-2. It was a major upgrade just to straighten out the wiring, but I remember thinking it actually did seem louder but figured it was just a placebo effect or something. I was amazed the next day when My buddy got in for school and asked after a couple of mins if I got a new amp?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Re: First owned PG product?
I had same thing happen when first swapped from AGU fuse holder to one of those light blue PG ANL fuse holders. It also seemed to have more punch. Just shows that quality connectors help keep your voltage up and help you get most from your system. I am always amazed when ppl drop good coin on their gear and then fit cheapo chinese fuse holders(fire starters lol)ttocs wrote:...I remember thinking it actually did seem louder but figured it was just a placebo effect or something. ...

In my case I upgraded everything from radio shack rca's to god knows where I got the power wires from, it was limited in every way both power and signal wise but made me a believer that day.

Re: First owned PG product?
A set of .75 meter RCAs. The sexiest sapphire blue ZeroPoint Musical Reference II with silver ends. Bought them from a friend who is a recording engineer and also a PG "dealer". I still have that set of RCAs in use in my TV setup.

Re: First owned PG product?
I had an M25 on Guam in the early 90s, it was a series 1 and sounded amazing on el cheapo Pioneer co-axes. I then bought a grey MS275 then an MPS2240. I had both mounted upside down and the 275 powered 2 12" kicker somethings and they never thermaled and sounded louder/clearer than a friend and his Kenwood 1021 on a pair of 15" Lanzar somethings. I sold the M25 as it rusted apart, but still worked as does many things on an island in the Pacific. Now I have the amps I've always wanted, the 2125 and 2250!!!! This place is awesome!
