depending on if it is broken off at the speaker terminal or in the middle, if its broke off at the terminal sometimes you can resolder it with some extra flux and good solder and still have enough wire left for speaker movement.if it broke in the middle then it can be a bit more difficult to solder ive seen people just use a straight trough wire connector when its broke in the middle just because of how hard it is to get solder to stick to the wire. :)

i mean if the wire itself is broke in half like somewhere in the middle of the wire, it is more difficult for solder to join the tensil wire when it is broke in half. :)

you could try soldering it while holding the longest part of the tensil lead with an extended alligator clip and then if you can get the solder to stick you will have to wait for the solder to cool completely before releasing it. :)

if there is still enough of the lead sticking out from the spider then you may can solder it but when soldering these leads it's best when your first soldering attempt is successful otherwise it becomes harder to get the solder to stick and also you can futher damage the speaker. :|

you may need to take it to a speaker repair shop that guaranty's their work and can get the parts needed to take the speaker apart and put it back together again, because i looks like they speaker need's to come apart in order to fix it. :-s

you might be able to use some desodlering braid to add some legth to it, but if there is NOTHING sticking out you are kind a SOL.

Of course if you only use one coil, it will burn up that coil...
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

The Elite tinsel leads are woven into the spider, so if it snapped off right at the spider, it is going to be pretty tricky. Odds are you are going to have to un-weave some of it, so you can get a longer piece to solder onto. But if you are not careful this will cause tinsel slap on the cone. Back in the day you could fix this by replacing the cone assembly, but those are no longer available unfortunately.
