my brother had two vlx400's pushing 8 15's in a civic hatch, a friend we grew up with said it sounded like the end of the world when he heard him coming. my brother did win a 4 foot tall 1st place trophy at usac i think he hit a 152 but this was way back in the day. his where chrome or polished aluminum but this pic is of a black one http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... (Phoenix Gold) "Triple-Darlington High Definition Amplifier" (Rockford Fosjunk) "Triple-Distortion No Definition Amp on Fire"
I used to love the US amps, I was considering buying a polished VLX400 on a different forum only a couple of weeks ago. super long.... 44" in fact. They are .5 ohm stable on music.25 on burps class A/B which was a draw back as they draw around 400amps , they do upwards of 5k tho. They made some great amps back in the mid to late 90's and they were homegrown USA made in Florida, out of my price range when I was younger.
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.

But yeah the old USAMP stuff was wicked, dunno about the newer stuff.
Not photo shopped, thats a surplus heatsink...hundreds of them all different length's and colors have been sold on ebay in the last 12 yr's. got 2 myself, 3rd gen to make my old usa2000's look like 1 amp, which would have been longer than a vlx which is why I couldnt do it...
this was not photochopped- for sure...
i knew the guy that had all these- used to work at the USAmps in FLA- dont remember his name....but he had 300 USAmp's amp collection and was selling them about 2-3 years ago-
He had them all in his pick up truck waiting for pick up- as he listed them on ebay and CL
These were the only two pics i could find from our correspondence...but i saw one pic that had the whole pick up in picture... and they were all there and he had some real nice gems in the bunch for sure....some that had the K (for kicker) on them as USAmps was (key word "was") going to make their heat sinks- but Kicker Flaked.
I actuaslly won the bid for 2500 for all 300 amps- of which 50% were not working and some were just sinks...BUT 50% were working and kinda made sense at 2500 for whole lot....BUT when i submitted payment he refused and listed them on CL for 3500- instead....
What happened was he listed with starting bid of 2500- and i was only bidder and he wanted more- scumbag- but fishing around on old HDD i found these and just wanted to share.

I have always liked them, but a few times I have had a chance to grab some, I have leaned towards ZED or PG. Shame they are badging things on the RE name.
