Cost to replace caps in a ZX450

Post by cheesehead2 »

I know some of you on here replace the caps in your amps. Can anyone tell me what the going rate would be to have some one replace the caps in a ZX450?

I am trying to find a ZX450 to pair up with the one I currently own but everything I find has yet to have the caps replaced. And from what I have read if they have never been replaced they are a fire hazard waiting to happen.

the zx and ti lines are comming up in the years that it is a good idea if you plan on using them for a while. Now on that note I have been running my octane LE for years now and not had an issue. I even have all the caps for it(20 some?) but just do not want to tear the truck apart to do it and been busy in my mustang.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

I had one of those ZX450's that caught on fire! At the time I sent it back to Phoenix and they replaced it with a new one(ten years ago). I'm still using that amp in my system now...I could sell it to you if you want. This past winter a took it apart a repainted it so it doesn't have any Phoenix stickers on it but it sure works good.
