Not that I can fit any more speakers in my ride but....
If i wanted to add more mid bass, how would i do it, keeping only PG stuff. I am currently running a XS4600 bridged into a rsd65cs component set. With the 2 rsdc12's in the trunk running on their own amps. The gains on everything are practically at 0. I seem to be missing out some power in the middle.
My idea was to run the rsd65 on the front channels and add another 2 6.5 without the tweets. How would I accomplish that, and at what crossover point? Do you think this idea could work?
i think its the fact that i have a very heavy low end, and i cant even crank it or it will overpower everything. i actually have the pld1 at 0 and the amp at 0 and i have to cut back the signal at the head, to blend the 2 12s.
i figured with a stronger mid bass i could get more overall volume. It seems i have the midrange covered but not the midbass.
i wish you guys lived closer so you could hear what i mean. What if i run another complete set of 65cs in there??
I tried separating the 6.5RSDC and used them for mid bass (80-150hz). I also used a 2.5" full-range and RSDCtweet for the mid-high and it sounded great. I had the RSDC6.5 (as a set with its passive XO) on an M100 and it sounded great, but the mid-bass would distort the midrange a bit crossed at @120hz. I do believe I gained more detail going with a sort-of 3 way and quite a bit more clean output. I used a 500.4TI for the mid-tweets and the mid-bass and a single 600.2TI for 2 10" JLW3V3 and the front end was significantly louder than the 6.5 set on an M100 or MS2125.
I don't remember seeing an RSDC set in 4" or 3", but you could fake it by putting a PG logo in the grill or something, hehehe...
I also think some door treatment or an enclosure would help quite a bit if you haven't done it already. I am going to attempt an off brand 8" in the door of a 944 soon.
my brother is running 6" rsd's on about the same power as you....and they put out a ungodly amount of midbass. i also deadened the ever loving crap out of the doors. and separated the back wave pretty well though.
the install pics in your thread make it look like the pods are just a piece of plastic and the back wave can escape out the top?
can you turn the front signal up so it gets louder before the subs? then just lower the volume on your deck. effectivly changing the ration between loud on the sub amps, and loud on the xs4600
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...
if you pld is not turned up, you minus well not even use it as everything that is in the signal will introduce some noise. So if you are not using it to its potential I would yank it personally.
Where are you planning on putting these? Have you considered trying to make an enclosure for your current mids if they are not in one now? I made some out of tupperware, and dampened it with second skin and it made a big diff in the midbass. I was using diamong audio hex 3-ways, which I am infact selling now if you wanted to try a real 3-way set... Great sounding speakers that I hope the Ti elites will keep up with.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
