converting round port to slot

Post by capitolj80 »

For the particular subwoofer I'm talking about, the box specs for one sub would be 1.6cu with a round port of 3" dia x 2.5" length, tuned at 30hz. How would this translate to a slot port with a 14" height? What would the width and depth of the slot be? I have ZERO experience with vented enclosures but I know that if I end up using one, I want a slot port. Thnx in advance :)
what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

I found a calculator for this...1/2" W x 10.9" D...does this sound right? 1/2" just sounds kinda narrow to me, but I suppose math doesn't lie...

All that will mater is if the port length and the ports open area remain the same.

3" dia port = 3.14*1.5^2 which equals 7.065 sq inches at 2.5" in length.
"ZPA's will have the same sound essentially as you get from the MS, they just feature a bigger shinier set of balls."
