Hey guys,
Does anybody know what type of plug this is? I've got my MS-2125 upside down with the bottom plate off and I noticed that there is a plug on the board to power the fan shroud.
My fan shroud had this plug attached to one of the power leads, but the soldering/condition leaves something to be desired. I'm thinking about selling the shroud, and would like to get a new plug to include with the sale. Here's what it looks like.
I'm going to stop into Radio Shed to see if they have one, but I'm not too hopeful. Most of those guys couldn't find their butts with both hands and a flashlight!
If u need a replacement most old computers use the same type of connectors for there fans, but most are 3&4 wire comnectors, you can slice them in half with a sharp new razor if ur in a pinch..the drawback to these is that they have a poor design as to how the connector connects to the wire, they slice through the wire insulation on both sides but they have a real small contact area that actualy touchs the wires, so if the connector passes alot of current through it, they melt due to the resistance, plus the vibrations of the car makes them loosen up over time. I did a spot solder to the wires on all these connectors on all my PG equipment. Id checkout digikey and see if they have a pcb mount connector in the size you need with set screw terminal, kinda like the power plugs on the PG eq's, blt's, sdt's,rmd's etc.. Hope this gives you some insight..
