Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
sorry I am not more help to you in the pm's but I have never been honored enough to own an M-series amp. Should not take long to get someone to come and help ya though.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
^no need to apologize, bro.
so i called PG and they cant tell me anything about the caps. i also went to www.ampguts.com and looked up the m44 but there is only a photo of the board, no part numbers.
somebody must know what to replace them with.
any help appreciated!

Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
Do a search on this forum for it. There are at least a few spots where the correct cap part numbers are listed, I just don't remember where.

Apparently the one link was broken.

Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
I believe the M44 uses 4 2200uf 16vdc capacitors for the power input and 2 15000uf 35vdc for the rail voltage.
Rail caps 85degC
Rail caps 105degC
Input power caps (maybe)

Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
first off, thank you for replying. secondly, i did a search however, i searched for m44 capacitor not m44 cap. LOLdwnrodeo wrote:http://phoenixphorum.com/viewtopic.php? ... +capacitor

anyways, how did those capacitors work out for you? looks like you were the person who started that other thread. did you do the resistors too?
thanks.
Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
just to verify:
you used these caps http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... bDiA%3d%3d
and i am confused about the resistor statement
1 ohm 3 watt is there 91 ohm 5 watt is most likely replacement Wirewound white sand block body is ok...C
is it 1 ohm 3 watt or 91 ohm 5 watt replacement for the ones to the right at the bottom of the blue caps.
thanks!

Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
The caps I used were 5600 uF caps, but those you linked will work. As long as the height doesn't exceed 35.5mm the temp goes to 105C and they are 16V, any capacitance higher than what is in there will work.todd131 wrote:just to verify:

I never did replace those resistors though. They are 91 ohm 3 watt resistors and any higher wattage will be fine as long as the resistance remains the same.

thank you for your replies.
Re: what replacement capacitors for m44?
I'm in the process of replacing the caps on my M44 and I found this link from Dr. Fosgate, which shows what parts to order and a picture walk-through for the entire process. Good luck!
