amplifier issues
amplifier issues
Here is what is happening with my system. I got hit from behind while sitting at a stoplight. My speakerbox turned over backwards landing on the rca cables, thus pushing in the outputs. Now the subs are not playing but the amps are on, when I move the rca cables, the subwoofers starts going crazy. The insurance adjustor is having someone to come out and look at it, but I wanted to get some people's opinion as to why its doing that. Thank you.
Re: amplifier issues
From your description it sounds like the enclosure damaged the RCA terminals on the amp, thus they have now been slightly (or entirely) disconnected from the circuit board of the amp. If this is the case, disconnect the power wire fuse and don't try to play the system until you replace the amp or have it repaired by a new RCA terminal or resoldering the jarred one back to the board.LowGmc02 wrote:Here is what is happening with my system. Pictures of said system damage would be more helpful to troubleshoot
14 PG amps from M/MS/ZX/Ti/LE and counting....the addiction continues...
Re: amplifier issues
I don't have any pics to put up, the truck is sitting at the bodyshop. Some audio guy is going to go out there and look at it to see if they will write me a check to replace them or if its fixible.

Re: amplifier issues
From your description it sounds like JayGold is correct, the RCA terminals have been damaged.
