Elite? wtf did these come from? Questions/comparos needed!

Ok so I havent really been around the site much. Im buying a different car that will finally get a stereo from my closet of goods that I have stashed, but now I read about the Elites, and they are new AND better than MS/ZPAs? right befor ethe world ends I find out about this!?

Has anyone switched to these from an all MS, ZPA, or even TI system, and been floored by the upgrade, or was it just nice to know the caps wont catch the car on fire?

Im seriously considering buying a few of these for the new system instead of using my old TIs, or even my FAS. I have 1 10W3d2 to power (if I dont swap it for an ID IDQ), 2 sets of older W series Focals -one set 6.8 inch fronts and one set of 5.4" rears... Installed in a Corvette C6 -current style (for another year anyway).

Should I use my 2 475Tis, or get2 Elite.4s? Maybe run a TI to the front, one to back and a 1200.1 to my sub? I dont care if the whole floor in the back is amps, I dont buy groceries in the car... lol Money is sort of a concern, but I only want to do this once, and if the Elites are truley better sounding, Id be willing to throw down some money... I was looking at buying Audison's Thesis at 4-5 grand each, so 1299 seems like a free amp if they are worth a damn.

I'm no expert in the technical department. But I just got my elite amps. I replaced the ti's. beefed up my electrical today. All I can say is the elites are amazing. I'm running ti6 comps and I love the sq.

The only real drawback to the Elite amps is probably weight. They really are that heavy. ZPAs don't weigh anything, MS amps are reasonably heavy, and Elites are downright ridiculously heavy. I think some enclosures with subs weigh less than an Elite amp does.

So, if you can get past that part, then the Elite amps are similar to the old MS amps, but built with a lot better parts, and more of them.

Space is also a concern. They are not small.

AWWWW yea, not gonna work in my Corvette when Im going after the record. lol Ill probably just rock my Ti's as they weigh like 8 lbs each.

Still would like to hear em though! Glad they are making awesome amps again.
