New guy need help for ms2250ta

Hello all, I'm new and have never posted on a forum before. I hope I'm doing this right. I have an ms2250ta. The resistors on the board location r345 and r346 were removed to be upgraded to 5 watt size. The problem is they were removed and lost. I now want to get the amp ready to be sold so I need to put them back in. Problem is I need the correct values to do so. I've tried looking at board pics all over the net but I can never seem to get a good enough pic to make out the color codes. Any body who can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Its the two greenish ones in the center of the pic. If you have this amp and its positioned so that the conections are facing you they are in the middle of the amp towards the right hand side. thanks.

I should add that these are the resistors that were in it but i'm not sure they are the correct ones so I just want to make sure the person that buys it won't have any problems . It does work right now, but I was told to do the upgrade to the 5 watt size in the right value to ensure a long trouble free life.

Keep those in there. If you use smaller ones like the amp came with, they actually may burn up. The 5W ones are a good choice.

those are 3W resistors... 5W is almost double the size of that.......

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I want to change them for the exact reason your quoting,they get real hot and I need to upgrade to the larger ones. But no one has yet to tell me the proper resistor value. These are already not the originals and need to be changed. I need to know the value of the originals so I can get them in a larger size. Another way to put it is, I need the color codes on the original resistors that came in this amp or an ms 1000ta. thanks for any help in this matter.

why do you think these are not the originals ?? they look very original to me.....

getting hot is a normal thing. they drop down the rail voltage to 15V.......

for the original ms2250 they are 1K5 but for the TA it must be a diff value (ms2125 is 620ohm)

but if the amp plays fine these must be the originals....that's what they look like......

some people will change them, other let them in. i changed them also to a 5W model and 1/3 inch away from the board....

email maybe Eric , Morgan or Valeks....they can tell you for sure the value........

Hi, thanks for your reply. I know they are not original because I changed them. This was many years ago, so I don't remember what the value of the original resistors are anymore. They were replaced with what I saw in pics on the net , then tested and put away. After a few years I got interested in the amp again and while looking online for info about it I found people were saying to upgrade these so that they don't fail. I now want to sell the amp or maybe use it. But I don't want to risk damaging it so I want to find out the original resistor values and then upgrade them to 5watt and raise them off the board to help cooling. Then I'll be able to feel confident that it is proper and working as it should. I've had this amp probably 10 years but it's seen less than a month of run time. So I have little experience with its performance capability. I like to collect equipment and have 15 amps and other car audio gear. It really is an addiction! Thanks guys for any help.
