ti 800.1 and 2 12w3 v3.4

Post by vincez28 »

Hey guys, what would be the best way to connect my subs to get the most out of them. The JL 12w3 v3.4 are rated at 1000w peak (500rms), single voice coils and nominal impedance is 4ohm. would I be maxing out my subs with this amp or is it time to upgrade my amplifier?

thanks,
Vince

That amp is perfect for those subs. I am a huge fan of the ti800.1. Another member hooked me up with my first set of jl subs a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty impressed with how they handle. I have the w0's but hope to have the w3 tomorrow.

if they are single voice coil it will be very easy.

you can either connect each to its own terminal. (which are internally wired together)
or you can "y" off the wires inside the box.

any way that puts them in parallel

that's what I thought as well, but my 3 XS 12's pounded louder with my ti600.1? I'm not sure why, maybe more cone area?

they pounded louder on the 600.2 over the xs's on the 800.1?

or the 3 xs's on the 600.2 were louder than the w3's on the 800.1?

Sorry I confused myself, I had the 3 XS's hooked up to the 800.1 and they pounded harder then now when I went with 2 12w3's.

that makes sense. the xs's are very efficient and have more cone area. i bet the w3's play much deeper
