Zx950 problem

Post by busterkiller86 »

One of my channels is cutting down in volume and distorting at low volume. When I turn it up it balances out with the other channel. I am running 4in tang band active on the channel from ~500 and up. The speakers are 8 ohm speakers. When its working it sounds great but seems to cut down in volume for no reason, and will start playing again when I push it really hard. The channel is from the front channel on the 4channel side (zx450). I have the other side (zx500) running an idq12 at 2 ohms that goes into thermal protect sometimes. I think that is just a current problem, I am only running 4ga power wire to it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

the pots are known to get dirty and cause problems. With the power off, first take note where they settings are at. Then move each of the pots 6-8 times back/forth before finishing in the same spot you started. Do that to all of them and see if it helps.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

I had the same issue a few months back on my zx450, and turning it back and forth worked perfectly!
(although, i did it about 20 times per pot, lol)
