Old Ti vs Zx

Post by knightrider358 »

Hey Guys,

So I have a Zx450v2 and a Ti475.4

I know their rms and peak output are both roughly the same. But the ti accepts a higher input signal voltage. The Zx allows up 8vrms and the ti allows up to 15.5v would this make a difference. I know the higher the input signal the lower the "floor noise" of the amp will be.

I am trying to decide which one will be better for my mids and highs. I will be running them as full active 2 way setup.

Anyhelp will be greatly appreciated.

Active def use the ti. The crossovers are more robust. Better internals too.

I think the crossover in the ZX is more useful, as you can configure more on it. But, the Ti is more reliable (both preamp and output sections), plus the Ti does have more power.

Really when choosing between a ZX and a Ti, I think the most important decision is the cosmetics, not the guts. They are close enough in so many areas performance should probably take a back seat to cosmetic preference.
