Look what i got today Orion 97.2 concept dsp + 97.1 concept

Hi im talking to a guy who has these two Orion amplifiers i can get both for a litle less then 300$, do anyone know what they are worth?.
I want to keep them an use them later down the line they are brand new but i dont want to lose money if i should decide to sell them.

I would think so the concept pieces were about as rare as any of the collectable pg stuff if not more...

Yea in new condition I think that amp is at least $600US.

there are only about 500 of each 97.1/97.3 concept amps built....most of them went to orion dealers and competitors, not many got out the door sales wise.the ones we got at intense audio went right into the shop demo truck.
i dont remember how many concept eq30s and component sets were built but it was a pretty low number

i would love to get the whole set up!! but no you wont loose any money at those prices!

I wrote wrong in the post its the 92.2 dsp and 97.1 the 97.1 does anyone know what the 97.1 put out i know it got 4 channels, i think i will try and get a 97.3 concept so i got the complete series for a future project.

2 of the channels:
50x2 watts RMS at 4 ohm
100x2 watts RMS at 2 ohm
200x1 watts RMS at 4 ohm bridged

The other 2 channels:

Thanks man i have looked for it but there where different ratings, it seems like a good deal the guy selling them wanted to sell to someone who would take good care of them.
Is the orion also affected by leaking cap?, i will check them anyway but i just wanted to know.

yes sir the older orions did suffer the same leaky cap problems..... so it never hurts to check them over

Well i just got them delivered the 97.2dsp was NIB but the 97.1 did not have the box but its clean so i dont care, what are the din port on the 97.1 for and what are the computer port on the 97.2 for?.

Im not sure im going to test them tonight and see how it sounds, im going to keep them but i dont think they are going in my collection in the long run i just could not let them go i did get them cheap.
Im going to check everything and make sure they are 100% and the 97.1 needs cleaning on the outside its full of dust

I believe the din ports are for balanced cables like older pg tba set.

Im pretty sure the cpu port is for exactly a cpu hook for tuning or software updates just the the pg tideq

I found that one but its not easy to see the pin layout on it, i see there is an original copy of the HCCA150 for sale on ebay maybe i will ask him about shipping to Norway

I tested the 97.1 yesterday it sound really good im actually impressed and all channels are working fine, i started cleaning the outside the inside is perfect.

The 97.1 has some marks here and there but not much im finished cleaning it and i tryed with paper under the caps and i cant find any leaks but maybe i will change the caps on it i not 100% sure yet, on the motherboard in my 97.1 it say xtr 475 is it a modified xtr?.
I also found an amplifier i forgot i had its a Ground Zero GHZA4150X im going to clean it and put it out for sale.

Got any gut pics? I can verify if its the same amp just different chassis...perhaps that's why its special edition, it has a brushed chrome finish.

I did not take any gut pictures but i will open it up tommorow and post a picture of the writing on the board and the whole board, in what i have found from an interview with one of the guys in Orion at the time it was made two channels are high current and two are high power.
The Din output is for hooking up another amp running it in a master/slave configuration, the 97,2 got toslink and xlr cabel input/output the problem is finding a headunit that has it.
I think i will use the audio control DQX its much better with the remote up front, the 97.1 is going in my car im using the channel 1/2 on front component and the 3/4 on my subwoofer but i dont know if it will sound good together with my 4ohm subwoofer that is dual coil would a low ohm subwoofer sound better?.

none of the concept stuff i have ever seen said special edition on it. at least the ones that came into the shop didnt.

The ones i find online all say special edition and edition but maybe there were two types of concept, the 97.1 special edition is an xtr475 after what i can see there are no changes made to the board.
I see people claming there are two amps in one and that its an HCCA150 but thats not the case in the special edition, i see some are marked edition only but i after what i find the inside is the same.
The problem with the 97.1 is that there is no manual available and that makes people say its this or that without looking inside and seeing what it is i even see people opening it up and still saying its an hcca150 other says it is XTR 250 and 225 HCCA in same chasis.

I posted alot of picture and i have looked on the xtr475 and i cant see a difference

I see that the x-over modules are different in the manual of the xtr475 the x-over dont match the 97.1 got the DVX2 boards i dont know what the xtr475 has but after what i see in the manual they are different.

Yeah perhaps just the crossover boards are different but the boards are exactly the same. Am still trying to figure out how much the XTR475 goes for, I priced it at 300.00 @DIYMA and got a few interested buyers but yet to sale it.

I think it funny that no one have seen this before i even see people selling it and has picture of the guts claiming it to be a hcca150, i see on this link that he has posted different watt on channel 1/2 and on 3/4 and he got multiple picture of the guts.
I think the XTR475 in good condition should be worth around 300$, does anyone ever tested one in a bench to see what amp the give out in 14volt or know what its good for?
