Setup/build help.

Post by seandiguer »

I am starting the build on my Subaru outback xt. I need a little help and advise. My system consists of a pioneer p800prs deck. I have a set of pg elite ti6 components for the front and 2 pg outlaw amps. I currently have 2 new pg xs12d4 subs and I have 2 focal 25a1 10" subs. My questions come down to which subs to use to match the elites. Also I was thinking of putting a 6" midbass in the stock location in the rear doors since midbass will be lacking, but don't know what to run. Not sure if I should go active considering i've never done this before. I had planned to use 1 - m100 for the front components and the other m100 for subs. that leaves me with 2 m50's for the midbass. Im getting old and just want a nice clean sounding system. I also have hushmat sound deadener for the entire car. I am not opposed to selling the subs I have in order to get one that better suits my build. I have also been tossing around the idea of selling 1 outlaw to get a m44 and m100 or zx450 and zx500. If I were to do this it would all fit in my spare tire well. With the outlaws being so big its hard to hide them.

First off, great amps. Just make sure they have been recapped before you use them.

As far as subs go, what are you looking to get out of them? What kind of music? Do you literally just want so,e bottom end (true sound quality) or do you want to rattle the emblems off your car, or something in between?

I'm not too familiar with the subs you have. I'm fairly familiar with JL or Image dynamics, and they both have a nice full line that would include a perfect sub for your needs depending on what you want to accomplish.

And further considering the power you will have I'd suggest the Image Dynamics IDQ or a JL audio w3, size would depend on you preferences. If you go with more power then I would suggest a JL w6.
A few of these and a few of those.
