Help On Repairing Elite 4

Post by Yeong »

Hi Everyone,

I'm helping a friend to repair his Elite 4, which has been not properly serviced by previous tech.

There are 2 capacitors, labelled CM2 and CM3 were removed. I can't find their exact value.

I tried contact Phoenix Gold but they have no info at all.

Appreciate if you guys have can help.

Got a help from Eric @Soundbuggy. Really appreciate his kindness.
It was 10uf 50V capacitor for both CM2 and CM3.

These two capacitors will affect the on off muting. In my case after restored the capacitors, I had turn off pop which caused by sequence issues where the input preamp stage off first before the output stage.

It needs some tweaks to get rid of the on and off pop noise, which I did it by fixing the opamps current draw to adjust the sequence correctly.
