what amp are you hoooking it up two?

if its a mono channel or 2 channel amp, you will just want to run + to + and - to - (of the amp is a two channel, you can bridge it)

if its a 4 channel amp, you wont beable to make full use of it potentially.

so there are 2 wires coming off the + and 2 wires coming of the - on the sub?

you should still beable to run + to + and - to - using the 2 wires that are essentially acting as one.

im still not 100% sure if i am understanding what you are trying to describe

Does the subwoofer have two pairs of terminals on the back, or are both wires connected to one terminal on the sub?

If the sub has two terminals, then it is a dual voicecoil (DVC) speaker. This way you can wire it up differently to get different loads (2 or 8 ohms). I don't recall whether or not the QX subwoofers had DVC subwoofers though...

Alternatively if both wires are connected to one pair of terminals on the sub, then the guy is retarded, and you should remove one of them. + to +, - to -, and you're good to go.

k, i'm SO sorry...i'll try to re-explain...off of the amp he has 2 sets of wires (split) with one wire from each set to + and one wire from each set to - , therefore 2 + and 2 -. however, when the wires were ran into the box he didn't mark on the connectors which belongs to which...now on the old sub there were (altogether 8 terminals) he had 2 wires (connectors) to one set of 4 (terminals) and same for the other...on the qxe i'm tryin to install there are altogether 4 terminals not eight =) does this help??? how can i find out other than taking the box out and re running the wires, which are + and which are - to connect my sub???

ok, i think i get it now.

your old sub was a DVC, so it needed 2 + and 2 - (one on each side)

your new sub is a SVC, so it only needs one + and one - (you can take the extra wires of the amp.

The QXe104 seems to be a single voice coil sub meaning it only has one voice coil and as such, only one terminal (+/-).

In this case you only only need a single run of speaker wire.

+ on the amp to + on the sub
- on the amp to - on the sub

the sub does have 4 terminals though...2 + and 2 - ...ok for running just one set of wires...however, the wires are not colored and the idiot didn't run them direct into the sub...so is there a way i can find out which wire is + and which one - without taking the whole box outta my car???

wait.

are the terminals connected on one side? in sort of a right angle configuration? if so, that only counts as one terminal. PG included those for people running mulitple subs.

as far as figureing out whats going on inside you box...you are best off taking it out just to be sure.

URGH...that's what i figured...thanks =) i guess my idea of 'terminal' is each stub...sorry =) thanks for your help =) so i'm gonna not connect one set of the wires and hook up the other set of wires to the + - now does it matter which 'stub' i connect it to???

i think you are on the right track now. it doesnt matter which stub you connect to, whichever is easier.
