MPS2500 fuses

Ok...I feel sick to my stomach, but let's just say the internal fuses of my MPS2500 are blown. The fuses say BUSSAGU40 on them. I have some fuses that will fit from my fuse block. The only problem is that the smallest I have is 60A. Is this ok to use for about 5 mins. just to test if the amp still works? Also....where can I buy the proper fuses?

Never replace a fuse with another that has a higher rating. If anything error on the small side. If the internal fuses blew it is likely that something is wrong with the amp. Those fuses are intended to protect the rest of your install, cables, and car in the event of an internal problem and really don't do anything to protect the amp itself.

I would take it to an audio shop or repair center to be tested and checked out. Sorry, but can I ask what happened?

Are you sure that your amp has NO blown parts I see no reason why the 60's would cause a issue, BUT,,, How did you blow the fuses in the first place ??? They don't fail for no reason, so I would be inclined to think that you have bigger issues and the 60's will cause flash damage when the amp repowers into a bad failure.

If I were you I would retest the amp with 3, 5, or 10 amp fuses first. If the amps channels are ok then run 60's if you like but realize that your way beyond PG spec and so damage can be quick if you do crazy things with your amp over-fused.......C

Well I am sure the fuses blew because of operator error. Now I just want to see if the amp it OK or if it is coming to visit you.

I am going to try the 60's i guess. It is just on the bench and I want to make sure it's ok before it goes in the box and into my loot pile.

Was it Reversed Polarity ????? If so you might have blown power fets, test your amp on a 10 amp power supply Please... I would hate to see you have any worse issues..C

You're a pretty good guesser Cecil. Ya....Of all the amps I could have reversed I had to do this one.

I took some pics of it. Nothing looks obviously cooked aside from a couple resistors that are slightly off color. I'm going to add a couple pics in a minute.
