Phoenix Gold Ti 5.25 Elite components

Post by X106RAL »

Hey guys, I currently have some Octane R 5.25 comps and have recently been thinking about getting myself a set of PG Ti 5.25 Elites and was wondering if people could give me some feedback on them, positive and negative?! :) I would like to know from people who have experienced them before i decide to purchase them myself. Thanks guys!

The elites are very smooth. Some say they lack midbass, which I have battled with. You are going to battle to try and find another driver that can produce the mids as well as they do for the price. The rolloff between the mid and tweet is well balanced. At first I found the tweet to be a buit overwhelming, but that was becasue I had the +3 db chip in. After removing that they were simply impressive.

Word to the wise, spend time on the installation! Those drivers want a proporly sized sealed enclosure, so be sure to have that in the plans. Also, the crossover is not something that you can easily hide like the octanes. It is very large, but it looks good sitting next to other ti stuff.

They are a great all around speaker. i wouldn't say they lack midbass at all! there is only so much you can expect from a 5.25, but they still do a above average job compared to others in the price range.

the crossover is a work of art, and very very nice. the mid a tweet are very transparent of each other.

the tweet is also top notch. a little bg for many factory locations though.

as joy ride stated, make sure to give them a well deadened, and sealed if if possible location.

also, the mid isn't a off the self re-badged Morel. PG sent moral specs of what they wanted in the speaker and had moral build/design it. morel then went on to continue building it for there other sets.
