Well, almost all of the pieces are here. Now all I need to do is gather the wire, distro block, an in-line fuse holder, and a few connectors and I'll be there. Here are a few pics of the equipment I will be using, the Exile stuff just came in today.
very nice! I have access to buy an Exile x300.2, If you need....I am guessing under 120 bux from the pawn shop next door to me. Looks to be in near mint condition. Have had my eye on it for a little while...just dont need a two channel amp.
They had a matching exile x12? it looks bigger than the one in your picture...I dont know much about their subs. It almost looks like a TI 12" for the motor. But it sold already.
Actually the whole system will be run off of that x200.4. The front channels will go to the XP6.5's and the rears will be used for that xtec12. It should be all kinds of loud like that, and it will be all in one amp. It's gonna look damn clean and be out of the way so we can still put camping gear in the back. It's gonna be sweeeeeeeeeeeeettt!!
Wakeup wrote:coo! looks sweet! Grats on the setup....if you change your mind later on...I got the x1200!
I know how sweet that Onyx cover looks on an amp! If I didn't have the big boy I have now I never would have got rid of that! If you really want to sell that just throw up some pics of that 1200.1 with the Onyx cover on it, I'm sure someone like me will just have to have it!! It just looks soooooooo dammmmnnnnnn sexxxxxyyyyy!!!!
yeah i work at a toyota dealership in service and the first one we got
i moved it after the pdi. i closed the door and i was like wtf
the whole car vibrated like a soda can...so yeah when my friend bought his and said let make it loud i told him NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO>
but seriously we spent some time mainly on the roof and rear side (quarters) where it seemed to be the most prone to vibration.
heres what we did we ran a freq sweep one freq at a time and killed the noise as it came up..
we laid a gerneral 3 ply coat in the car then hooked up a 15
and let it play and listened for more noise, found some and then fixed it.
some places got up to 5 layers of skin..insolite on top of all the deadning matt helped too. did doors and what ever else we could cram..
here is something i did that i usually do with old clothes but doesnt look pro. (my lexus has old shirts and towels) basically wii stuffed them inbetween panels to also stop the movement of panels. but i only do this to my cars
works beautifully in my lexus...but again doenst sound pro but then its better then throwing them away...i stuffed shirts and towels all the wya up my rear quarter panels into the c piller and it stopped all vibrations and
it alos keeps the rear wave from traveling through the open areas of the trunk.........hmmmmmmmmmm
anyway im ghetto when it comes to my own rides but it does work....
aloha.
You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!
You can PM "MW3" on this forum or go to www.exilecaraudio.com/forum and send a PM to Morgan@Exile or Brian@Exile. Both guys are extremely cool and easy to deal with, they can help find you a dealer.
Yep, I delt with Morgan on the recommendation of AVICJR. He was great to work with, I got my stuff in a timely manner and Morgan is real knowledgeable!!
Dunno if you've seen this, nor if you care. At least you can see what to expect. Let me know if you have any questions about pulling stuffs apart or anything.
Edit: And yes, the thing seems to rattle like a bitch. I deadened but I didn't do a thorough job on the rear and now I might have to pull it all back apart.
Great pics man!! I would have loved to do something like that, but alas this is the girlfriend's rig and this was all I could talk her into. I also will be putting the sub up on the fender like that, but on the opposite side. The amp will go on the passenger side because there are more panel covers there for me to drill through. My amp will me out in the open, and I'm hoping it won't be too much of a hassle.
All in all looking good man!! I can't wait to see the end result, and then we can show off our FJ's using PG amps on the FJ Cruiser forum and shut that asshat up about using PG gear!!
