I don't know about how the board is physically laid out but the each set of two pots is for the following:

One is for input and the other is output. The input pots are typically -20db to 0db, meaning all they do is lower the input signal. The output pots are the ones where you'll be adding the gain.

What you'll want to do is measure the voltage on the input RCAs with a 60Hz test tone around 3/4 of the deck volume and get a general idea of where you are. If the number is low or normal, set the inputs to 0db (far right). Now with that same 60Hz test tone at 3/4 (or so) volume, test the output end of the TLD and start raising the output gain pot until you reach desired voltage for your amps. This is setting a MAX voltage you amps (or the next processor in line) will see.

You know what? That was actually my best guess based on playing with AX crossover, that how it's pots work.

yes, 50 or 60 hz 0dB sine wave will work for sub signal. use a 1khz tone for the amp powering your front speakers.

Use 60Hz unless you have a "True RMS" voltmeter. 60Hz is the frequency of A/C power in north america, so it works natively with multimeters.

You can download test tones here, just burn them to a CD instead of an MP3 disc. I personally make tracks 1-22 just 60Hz tones, then have the pink noise and 1kHz tracks, and then 25 and up is the corresponding track (25=25Hz, 30=30Hz and so on):

Use the 60Hz tone for your components as well... just disable the crossovers temporarily. Once you have the gains set, you can re-enable them.
