I've vaguely contemplated the idea but I came to two main conclusions:
1. My install would need a lot of "prettying up" to do for a competition.
2. Do I really care that much, in that way?
I love my stereo but I'm not certain competing will keep any of the fun in it when it's a somewhat passionate hobby.
Besides, I can't compete with guys that can throw thousands upon thousands at this shit... not that winning would even matter, but still.

I have competed two seasons in SQ comps here in Finland. This year I entered just to one competition.
With spaghetti-like wiring and tweeters installed just before judging I placed third.
It wasn't because of my super natural sound but there was only two other competitors in my class. And after hard install process with tweeters and wiring audience only noticed amp I use to power all speakers. What is... THAT?!!! MS 1000 TA which I also installed at same day early morning.
Competiting is just fun for me, not too serious, but next year I'll try to gain scores.

I have thought about it, but it's just too much hassle for me. There are soooo many rules, and there are people competing out there right now that don't even do their own install!! How the hell could I compete with a shop install that cost tens of thousands of dollars? Now if it was just judged on sound alone then I might actually consider it.
On a different note I would like to go to one just to see some nice installs and hear them. I personally have never been to one.
