Cheap, old PSL amps - NIB

I'm not selling these, but came across them on FleaBay. These are PSL (Phillips Sound Labs) amps from around 1995-96. They are actually quite attractive gloss black amps and appear to be NIB.

My understanding of PSL is that they built amps for themselves (duh), contracted PPI to build their Special Edition amps (Sedona, rebadged) and later built the Aura Force amps. In fact, the early FORCE amps had PSL labeled boards in them.

Anyway, for the low $$$, they're worth a look.

If I rememebr right arent these half way decient amps

Yeah, they were fine. Compared to what was available "then", they were merely average. Today, they're right in line with the name brands.

Remember, there are maybe ten basic topologies/ways to build a non-switching (class a/b, b) car amp. Only about four of these are used today. This is one of them. It's also a type that will respond very well to an OpAmp upgrade, making them less noisy. I also recommend a fixed gain mod giving them excellent inter-channel tracking. They'd rank up with some very expensive amps if you do these things.
