Stick with Elites or go with some Seas??

Post by RATIFIED »

The more I think about it the more I dont know what to stick with; the Elites or change to some Seas. The Elites are getting a solid 190watts per side. If I went with Seas, it would be 55w per component @ 4 ohms. I was looking at the CA18RNX or Peerless Exclusives 7" and for a tweet the Seas 27TAFNC/G; running active. All processing will be done by the headunit; Pioneer PRemier 860 (till I get my 880). Which do you think will be better overall and why? Keep in mind these will be run IB in doors. The more I think about it, the more confused I get!!! Wheres the Tylenol???

I would check out diymobileaudio.com and do some searches over there in the reviews and general audio sections. They have tried out many different combos of speakers and have reviewed many. They are big fans of both the Seas and Peerless speakers over there so I'm sure many of your questions can be answered with a search.

Personally right now in my car I am running Seas (CA18RNX)mids with LPG tweets active through my Premier 860mp. To me it sounds pretty damn good! It took a lot of tuning to get it where it is, and I'm sure there is much improvement to be made. I guess what I'm trying to say is that going active is no easy thing. I am not trying to discourage you in any way, just trying to prepare you for what is in store.
