After adding a PG RSD10...
After adding PG RSD10 to my daily driver, now I have a dilemma. I think I like they was it sounded with the Arc Audio 8 better. The RSD10 plays the lower frequencies at much more authority (The arc really lack a low end). However it play the higher frequencies of bass better. If I could get much arc audio to play the lower frequencies like PG RSD10 I would be very happy. I have the RSD10 in a seal enclosure 0.6ft^3.
First I have 2 M25's with the fequencies split with a PG MX2 crossover.
Front seperates are 5 1/4's old school A/D/S/ The gain on the crossover are set at 60% for the front, 100% rear. With the 8, I had the crossover set at 80Hz. With the PG RSD10 the crossover is set around 65Hz (it sounded boomy above that).
My 5 1/4 don't have much midbass, they are solidly mounted in deadend doors. They were much happier at 80 hz than 65hz, I have to lower music down if the music is heavy in that range. The problem is that 65-80Hz the midbass-bass is very weak its like its almost completely missing that range.
So do I buy a better set of seperates (ie RSD65) sell A/D/S/'s or do use the Arc Audio 8 (I have to make sub box for it) and sell the RSD10's.
I also have a feeling if that I upgrade the front's I might want to upgrade my sub amp. For me the M25 on the front components, gets loud enough for me (and I have a little head room). Anyways that is another story/post to figure out once I get this done.

^^^both good suggestions. If Errin's suggestion helps the sub to blend more effectively with your components then you could take it one step further and supplement your bottom-end impact by adding a bass cube to boost some of the lower frequencies.
If none of the above options seems to correct your issue then you'll likely have to either add some designated midbass or swap out pieces of your existing equipment (sub or components). The RSD subs do play very low and the RSD components compliment them very well. In fact, the components are so capable in the midbass reproduction that you could even afford to upgrade your RSD10 to a 12" and gain even more low-end extension without compromising the way the sub blends with your components.

Anyways I turned the gains down and moved the crossover point up to 80Hz and it sounds much better, I added a tad of bass boost as well. I sort of want to do better mid (RSD 5CS) and stronger sub amp, but in someways its just my daily driver and I should leave it alone. I am have other pojects that are taking my time so its going to stay as is for right now.

I went out and bought RSD6.5CS and bought a ZX350 for the Sub (using my other M25 for the RSD6.5cs)
I install the ZX350 last week and it definately was an improvement for the RSD10, it probably could use more power but I am more than happy, plus I really like have the LPL44 again.
I went to install the RSD65cs today and for once it went a lot easier than I expected. I had make an MDF adapter plate for the 5 1/4 even though the factory speaker were 5 1/4". I grabbed my Router and MDF and was expecting have to do the same. Well the midbass of the 6.5 just pop into the opening, 4 hole with a drill and they were done. I haven't got arround installing the RSD tweet, I am using the old tweeters ADS with RSD passive crossover. So far I am very happy with the sound. As report a far better midbass. The lower extension of midbass, reinforces the sub with levels on the LPL44. I haven't even played around with the crossover at all, I just set to around 60-65Hz. For $90 you can go wrong with these components. Once I finish with the Tweeters, I am officially done and satisfied with this stereo in my beater.

It's been said to death on this forum but the RSD comps are nothing short of fantastic value. They sound very good (of course there's better!) and cost a fraction of most comparable component sets.
Has anyone found a component set within $100 of the RSDs that is truly competitive in subjective sound quality?

I have 2 pair of the 5.25 RSD's and found them to lack in midbass but to a really good job with soundstage. I run them on a JL Audio 300/4 and a Alpine CDA9887. I have 2 RSD10's on a JL Audio 500/1 and found the bass to be very deep . But the accuracy isnt as nice as I wished. Not sure if its the box, the amp or the speakers.
I have the 10's in a .5ft3 box. I didnt add any airspace to take up th emagnets displacement. Maybe this is why its not so tasty as I hoped. Ill try more boxes. JLamps are nice though. Its the best Class D amp I heard so far

PG Phorum is like a box of empty chocolates. Nothing to appreciate and no satisfaction.
