Amp repair...where to go?

Post by gln305 »

I have an Arc Audio FD4150 that has an issue with two of the four channels. If someone here might be able to fix it for me, please send me a PM. Thanks!

I looked on Amp-guts and saw two different 4150's, Both the same, one with a fan... Which is yours ?

If you have two channels out by failure then this amp would be in protect mode and none of the channels would be working at all as the amp should be shutting down on turn on.

I have been in a few of these as they are popular out here and I think i own a 500 somewhere, Long, narrow, white, and very blown by it previous owner.

I have the parts especially the drivers that are a bit difficult to find < same as Zapco> CEN-07 and CEN-57. These seem to found nowhere but i managed to get a few sets of these a while back. And the go whenever a output pops.

If your missing two channels please remove the bottom cover and look at the RCa's they like to break the hard wire connection to the board all the time. After that I would look at all the switch's on the crossover section, they get corroded and broken easily.
Then theres the blown traces feeding back to the output terminals, and open solder joints from over current and too much heat...

Just some things you can do on your own...LMK what you find.....C
